"So anyone want a sugar bomb?" Mary ignored Tali and merely smiled, throwing the packet at Kori who was grabbing at the air for them. Kori ripped them open and began to suck on one, pulling a happy face as the sugar hit him.

The flap to the tent was suddenly pulled back. "Ahem..." Nara cleared his throat and took a hesitant step in, trying his best to look comfortable, though his cheeks flushed a bright pink when he saw Kori licking the sugar bomb. He was so cute.

"...Wha?" Tali said, tilting her head to the side and looking even more confused. However, once Nara entered the tent, she looked angry. "What the hell do you want?!" she spat at him, crushing the remainder of her cake in her fist.

Mary's eyes widened as Tali suddenly yelled at Nara, she kicked her gently in the shin. "I think you meant to go 'May I help you?'." Nara was one of the top Scouts and wouldn't think twice about killing her.

Nara blinked and took a deep breath. "Havu.." He stopped as nonsense came out, his blush deepening.

Rex got off the bed and walked over to him, sniffing his hand and giving it a little lick.

"Nope, I meant what I said," Tali replied. "Well? Do you want something?"

Nara stood there like a lemon for a good 30 seconds before he responded. "Be ready to leave first thing, we have to prepare our disguises," he was shocked he managed to get out a complete sentence with Kori staring him down.

Kori moved closer to Tali. "Oh so you're going with her," there was a hint of jealously in his voice and someone stealing his friend. Nara took this the wrong way and death glared Tali, as if she were a witch.

"What is going on?" Mary whispered to herself, confused by the amount of tension between the three.

"Goddammit, no! I'm not going with you! You'll have to grab me by the foot and drag me there!" Tali snarled, folding her arms across her chest and looking venomously at him. "I'm not doing it!"

"Then I shall have the cross prepared for your crucifixion." Nara turned and went to walk out the tent, very happy with the jolly outcome of this event. Tali refusing gave him the ability to make the choice to kill her.

"Wait what?" Mary was dumb-founded.

Tali grumbled angrily under her breath and death glared at Nara before turning to Mary. "Er... It's not important right now... I'll tell you later."

"Nara wait, Tali will do it, there's no need to start killing people!" Mary jumped up, well shakily got up and stumbled really, and walked over to him. "She's just having a bad day, of course she'll be ready tomorrow."

Nara narrowed his eyes. "Fine, whatever," he quickly ran out of the tent as if someone had just thrown a grenade in.

"He's weird." Kori finished off his snack.

Tali glared at Nara's back as he left the tent. She then looked down at the crushed cake in her hand, paused for a moment and stuffed the whole thing in her mouth. "Right, now that he's gone, I will explain everything," she said through her full mouth.

Mary turned back to Tali with her arms crossed. "Please, explain why you were giving attitude to a guy who;d happily kill you?"

"He's a creepy stalker that's why," Kori blurted out, jumping to defend Tali.

"Vulpes cornered me after I left dinner. He told me that I was being watched because he doesn't trust me, he still thinks I'm a spy for the NCR or something," Tali began. "And it has become alarmingly clear that it's that Nara guy who's spying on me for Vulpes. He works for him, after all. And it seems like every time I turn around, he's there." She sighed. "I don't like being spied on when I'm not doing anything wrong."

Mary sighed deeply. "So, losing your temper at him is the perfect way to earn his trust hmm?" She scratched Rex on the head and lent back. "Just do the mission and follow every order, you know, Nara won't cause you any trouble so long as you don't irritate him." Mary thought deeply. "But, Nara is a Scout..not a Frumentarii...why would Vulpes have him spying on you?"

"Because he's cunning, he knew that's exactly what we'd think." Kori felt like a master detective.

"Technically he started it. He gave me the evilest death glare ever," Tali pointed out. "Still, I guess the only thing I'm going to accomplish by being angry with him is being left to die on a cross. So, I guess I'll just have to go with him and carry out this mission without fault. That way, he won't be able to say anything bad about me to Vulpes." She then shuddered. "I never want to be cornered by him like that again. That was creepy."

"Do you want to borrow Rex?" Mary nodded to the sleeping dog which had happily nuzzled it's face down on her lap.

Kori held out a sugar bomb for Tali, aiming to put it in her mouth for her.

"Isn't he Caesar's dog? Would he mind if I took him?" Tali asked, extending her hand for him to sniff. She then looked at the sugar bomb Kori was offering her and gingerly opened her mouth to take it.

"No he is MY dog!" Mary clapped her hands making Rex jump up and bark excitedly. "See," she rubbed the dog on the head making him thump his back leg in satisfaction.

Kori flicked the sweet into her mouth and grinned.

"In that case, I guess I could use the friendly company," Tali said, smiling at Rex's reaction to being patted. She crunched on the sugar bomb that Kori popped in her mouth happily. "Cheers, Kori," she said appreciatively.

"It would give me some time to get a spare brain sorted out for him," Mary mumbled and petted the dog. "Just take care of him okay." She turned to the dog. "Did you hear that boy, you'll be looking after that lady for a while, do as she says okay." Rex barked.

"Don't worry, I'll take great care of him! I love dogs," Tali said happily, rubbing his back. "What a good boy you are!"

The next morning, Tali awoke, sat up, rubbed her eyes and groaned. "Ugh... Well, today's going to be fun, isn't it?" she grumbled.

Kori was still asleep on the floor, hugged up in the bed that had somehow managed to fit three people. Any other man would have been on Cloud 9 having two girls sharing his bed, he on the other hand seemed pretty okay with it and had just opted to sleep.

Mary was up and doing her hair, she nodded when she heard Tali's statement. "Blowing up the monorail should be fun."

"I guess watching things explode is pretty fun," Tali admitted as she got up. She looked at herself in Kori's mirror from behind Mary; her hair was frizzy and stuck up in several places, and her eye makeup was smudged. "I guess I should go and make myself look presentable," she announced. "I'll be back in a minute." And with that, she left the tent.

"I'll go get your disguises and stuff from Vulpes, no doubt he has a story ready for you and Nara," Mary stood up and walked out, waving as Tali as she did so. Walking up to Caesar's main tent she was surprised to see on Lucius as she entered. "Where is everyone?" Mary looked around.

"Caesar is still asleep and Vulpes hasn't come by yet, I believe he had something to deal with." Lucius looked up from the current gun he was repairing.

"Still asleep huh?" A wicked smile crossed Mary's face, she briskly walked towards the mans room and peered inside. "Like a baby...." Walking in completely she carefully approached the bed and climbed on top, standing above him. Without warning so poked him right in the face with her big toe.

Tali entered her tent and walked over to her small vanity table. She picked up a rag and wiped off her smudged makeup, brushed out her hair and began to reapply her makeup. As she did so, she wondered if she should take a few things with her. She would certainly need to touch up after the trek to Camp McCarren.

Caesar was sleeping peacefully when suddenly, he felt something poke him in the face. He began to stir with a groan, slowly opening his eyes. "UGH!" he cried, flailing around for a moment before looking at Mary. "Goddammit! What the hell do you thing you're doing, woman?!"

Mary nearly fell over from laughing, the look on Caesar's face was priceless. "Wakey, wakey...eggs and bakey!" She dropped down on top of him and grabbed a pillow, smushing it into his face whilst laughing madly. "This is the first time I've ever woken up before you," she was laughing as she flailed and continued to attack him with the pillow.

Nara stood outside Tali's tent, feeling awkward as he wondered how he should enter.
