"He shouldn't," Tali said, entering the tent. Her eyes lit up when she saw ED-E sitting on a table. She picked him up, opened a small hatch at the back and began to tinker around. Within minutes, the little robot was floating again, chirping happily at the sight of her.

Mary stared at Ed-E before growing bored and walking back up to her tent, she fluttered her hand at Tali gesturing for her and her robot companion to follow. "Come on we need to get going, Kori should have packed by now." She tracked back up the dusty hill, grumbling every time her shoe slipped and she caught her ankle awkwardly. "Really now why did you go running off like you own the place, he could have killed you?"

"I guess I was just so eager to get ED-E back that I didn't think," Tali said, looking ashamed. "I'm sorry, I won't do it again."

"No you won't, I'll let you die if you do it again!" Mary said it all with determination but you could tell she didn't mean it as she stomped back towards her tent and through the flap back. "Kori are you done?" She stared at the young man who had tried to cram everything into smaller cases so their load was lighter.

Kori smiled and nodded. "We got clothes, food, water and medical supplies to last us for the two day hike to The Strip," he pointed at the back backs. "The bigger one is mine, it's got all your stuff in it Mary." He knew she would never carry her own items.

At Mary's words, Tali's face fell and her posture drooped.

"When are we leaving?" she asked with sadness in her voice.

"Now, there is a matter of urgency on this mission," Mary nodded her head for Kori to pick up his bag.

Kori picked up the bag and then passed the smaller one to Tali, he stared at Ed-E for a second and then grinned. "Cool robot."

Tali took the bag from him and smiled.

"Glad you like him! Everyone else around here seems to think that he's creepy..."

ED-E beeped sadly.

"Aw I don't think he's creepy," as they walked Kori patted the little flying machine on the head, laughing at the way it buzzed and bobbed around in the are.

The trio walked towards the main entrance, Mary avoided all source of eye contact and instead focused on getting out of the place. She pretended Tali and Kori weren't behind her and that they were merely little baggage handlers carting her stuff around.

Tali trotted along behind Mary and next to Kori, carrying her bag on her back. ED-E floated along beside her, beeping happily.

"Goodbye you lot! Don't get yourselves killed!" a mocking, singsong voice called out. The twins jumped out from behind a nearby large rock and stood in front of them.

Kori jumped a mile when Cero and Ceron appeared out from a rock, he went towards Tali instantly hiding behind the shorter woman. "We won't get killed," he tried to sound impressive as he cowered.

Mary ignored them both and stormed past them.

"Don't go getting mauled by Deathclaws either, or gang-raped by Fiends," Ceron waved after them, a grin spread wide across his face.

Cero laughed at Kori as he jumped behind Tali, who turned around and stroked his hair sympathetically. She then followed Mary, looking down at the ground and blushing slightly as she too pushed past the twins, although she didn't push quite as hard. ED-E followed her, whistling happily.

As soon as they excited The Fort and got on the boat their journey up stream really began, Mary remained quite for the boat ride as did Kori, though more out of respect for the Legion guiding them than Marys obvious apathetic mood. Once they were on land they walked miles, stopping for a drink every now and then but generally making good headway towards The Strip.

The sun began to set and soon it became apparent they would need to set up camp. Kori began to gather some cinder block and strewn pieces of wood to make a fire while Mary hitched a tent.

Meanwhile, Tali looked though the food Kori had packed to see if she could use anything to cook with. After picking out a few ingredients, she set to work making some soup. It probably wouldn't be the tastiest thing in the world, but it was the best she could do with what she had.

Kori bundled the wood over the cinder blocks making a pyramid formation before lighting them, he then pulled over some thicker logs and promptly sat down on one, stretching his legs out and letting out a loud sigh of pain. "My feet hurt, all this walking is boring."

Mary had made the tents and was preoccupied with brushing her hair, thus she chose to ignore Kori's complaining until she had finished doing the quick once over. She took a seat next to them, the newly made fire casting an orange hue on their faces and illuminating the dark night. "All you did was complain Kori and we had to stop five times because your feet hurt, you'd think you'd be used to this by now," she shot him and glare and watch Tali cook, her stomach rumbling at the idea of hot food.

Once Tali had finished making the soup, she spooned it into bowls and handed them to Mary and Kori.

"This is the best I can do right now, I'm afraid," she said apologetically.

"I'm sure is will suffice," Mary took a bowel of it and poked around with her fork, eyeing everything suspiciously. She stared at Tali and Kori as if waiting for them to take a bite first.

Kori stared at it and then began to eat casually, pulling happy faces. "Tali this is delicious," he spluttered out between mouthfuls of soup.

"Oh, classy." Mary watched him eat.

"Aw, thanks Kori!" Tali said happily, beginning to eat her own soup. ED-E bobbed up and down and beeped happily.

Mary rubbed her temples and chucked the bowel on the floor causing some of the remains to spill. "I'm not feeling so good that'll do for tonight," she slid off the make-shift bench and laid on the floor, groaning and holding her stomach.

"Did you eat too much before we left?" Kori watched her rub her stomach still happily eating his own food. When Mary gave him a dirty look he took it as a know. "Want me to rub your feet?" He was evidently trying to win her over.

"Yes please my ankles really hurt," she shuffled so he could get a hold of her calves.

Tali looked over at Mary and Kori, then rumaged around in her bag and pulled out a vial of scented oil.

"Here, use this," she said to Kori, handing him the vial.

Kori took the small vial, rolling it around in his hand before flicking the lid off an giving it a casual sniff. "Smells yummy."

"Kori don't eat it, you rub it on my ankle," Mary sighed deeply at the sheer idiocy that was her current comrade.

Kori laughed and proceeded to put a little on her ankle.

Tali watched Kori and Mary for a while, before staring at the fire, lost in thought. ED-E hovered around the perimeter of the small camp, keeping an eye out for any enemies.

"Any better?" Kori pulled away and watched Mary shuffle back into a seated position, she gave a sorry sob and looked down at the fire.

Everyone was too quiet and Kori felt the need to make conversation. "So what's our plan for The Strip?" He looked to Tali and Mary since in his eyes they were the leaders of this situation.

Tali looked up from the fire and thought for a moment.

"First, we will have to get into The Strip. We'll need passports or a lot of caps for that. Then I need to go and confront Benny."

"Well Caesar gave us some Legions Coins," Mary delved into her pocket and produced some small coins with the mark of Caesar on them. "If we can cash these in somewhere we should get about 1500 caps, and there are BOUND to be people we can bribe to get us into the Strip."

Kori nodded and looked at the coins. "So we cash the coins, find someone to get us into the Strip or maybe get us passports, then what, we can't just waltz into where ever Benny is."

"Oh I did some research by the way," Mary turned to Tali, "you're little friend takes up resident in The Tops casino, no doubt he'll have the chip on him."

"How do you think I should approach him? As I am? Or should I diguise myself somehow?" Tali said as she looked over at Mary.
