Rex lapped up the water in her hand hungrily. Nara continued to sip his, staring directly at Tali as if she were going to do something. "You know-" Nara was cut off as he saw a small red laser circle appear on Tali's chest, he blinked a little and then lunged as he realised what it was. He tackling Tali off the rock and onto the ground just in time to avoid the shot from a 10mm pistol. Rex barker and ducked down.

"What the-?" Tali cried as Nara tackled her to the ground. "What the hell do you think you're do-" she began indignantly, but she stopped as soon as she heard the gunshot that he had saved her from. She then let out a small cry of alarm.

Nara growled and sat up, still ducked so as to avoid any more gunfire. He saw the Raiders approaching them, two men and one girl. "This is supposed to be an assault," Nara whispered a rude comment there way and stood up, ready to try and deal with them should they choose to actually converse.

"Well what 'ave we here?" The man, who appeared to be the leader of the small group, stepped forward. Rex growled at him and stood defensively by Tali. The leader laughed and eyed Tali, undressing her mentally.

"Well, now... It looks like these two could have quite a few caps and valuable shit on them. And the little girly's dress looks rather expensive..." She turned to the man who was eyeing Tali up. "How about you take it off her for me?"

Tali glared at the raiders as she stood up, her hand reaching for her pistol instinctively.

Nara stared lazily at them, Raiders were as stupid as they were pathetic in there attempts to scare. "I'm afraid this is the end of the road for you, Profligate." He took a step back and braced himself, ready if they attacked.

"Profligate?" The leader was confused, he'd heard that name somewhere before. "Fuck you man," he went to draw his gun.

Tali's eyes narrowed as she drew her pistol and pointed it at the female raider.

"Ha! She thinks she can defend herself against us! What do you think you're going to do with that then, girly?" The female raider taunted.

Tali pulled the trigger and shot her in the stomach.

"AH! You... Little... Bitch!" the raider screamed, clutching her stomach.

Tali turned to Rex. "Get her boy!"

As soon as the female raider crippled from being shot, Rex jumped at her and snapped his jaws around her neck, quickly ripping it out.

Nara bolted forwards and whacked the leaders gun from his arm, breaking the mans arm in the process. He then sung him around and used him as a human shield to avoid being shot by the third raider who had begun to fire.

"Good boy Rex!" Tali cried as the female raider fell back dead from having her throat ripped out. She then turned her gun on the raider that Nara wasn't using as a human shield.

Nara threw the leaders body to the ground as soon as the last raider ran out of bullets, he then darted forwards, as the man tried to quickly reload. Bringing his fist up he punched the man across the jaw and then, with his free hand, flicking out a blade and brought it across his neck slicing it clean open. Blood sprayed out for a few seconds and then died down as the corpse collapsed to the floor. "Pathetic," Nara grumbled as he bent down, searching their bodies to see if they had anything worth taking.

Tali holstered her pistol and watched Nara search the bodies of the raiders for a moment. Then, hesitating a little, she quietly said "Thanks for pushing me out of the way of that bullet... You kicked ass..." She then sat back down where she had been sitting before and beckoned Rex over so she could pat him.

Nara didn't respond to Tali, he felt a little bit bitter about having saved her after all. It was the perfect opportunity really, she dies, Kori gets upset, and he';s there to pick up the pieces. "They've got nothing but dirty water and snacks, useless," Nara threw the snacks down and stared at the dirty water with a sou expression. "I suppose your dog can drink it though." He tossed the dirty water at Tali.

"I'm not giving him that! Just because he's a dog, doesn't mean he has to drink crappy water!" Tali said angrily. Still, she put it in her bag in the event she came across a purifier and could purify it... Or if they got desperate for water.

"You should learn to control your emotions," Nara rolled his eyes at how quick Tali was to snap and get angry. "Idiot," he muttered under his breathe.
Rex tilted his head a little, not understanding the situation.

"Anyway, he's not my dog, he's Mary's. I think. Or Caesar's. Either way, I don't want to give him anything that could make him sick, otherwise I'll be in trouble," Tali grumbled, turning her back on him, pulling out her own water and resuming offering some to Rex. "Want some more, boy?"

Rex nudged Tali's hand and then pawed at the bag, trying to get out some of the food he had sniffed out.
"I see," Nara actually sat a little closer to Tali this time as he flopped down next to them and stared at the dog. "I've never seen a robotic dog before." He sounded hesitant and reached out the poke the metal oval that made up Rex's brain. Rex turned and licked his hand, making Nara jump.

"Neither had I until he came along," Tali said. She then eyed up the raiders' snacks, reached out and picked a few of them up. "Hm... I wonder if any of these would make him sick..." The poor little guy seemed hungry, but she didn't want do give him anything that would damage his health even more. Mary and Caesar would more than likely be angry with her if that happened.

"Is he upset or something?" Nara noted the dog's weary panting and rather exhausted appearance. Rex flopped down by Tali and began to whimper a little, his body taking it's toll and becoming increasingly more in need of a new brain.

"Apparently he's sick, poor little guy," Tali said, leaning down, petting his back and nuzzling his nose with hers. She was a huge softie when it came to animals. Well, she was a huge softie with anything, but especially animals. "i'm not exactly sure what's wrong with him though. Something to do with his brain?"

"Hm," was all Nara could say as he watched Tali fuss over the robotic dog. "We need to continue moving, we've had rest enough." He quickly stood up and took a quick sip of the purified water, turning to Rex he noticed the door stand up and wag his tail as if signalling he was ready to move also.

"Already?" Tali said weakly, still tired from trying to keep up with him earlier. However, she quickly recomposed herself and stood up; she didn't want to appear whiney. "Come on, boy! Let's go!" she said to Rex, smiling at his eagarness.

The remainder of the walk to Camp McCarran was utterly uninteresting, occasionally they would get attacked by a few geckos or rabid dogs but Rex always charged forwards and dealt with them before they got close to Nara and Tali. As the trio arrive at the gate to the camp Nara turn to Tali. "Here, you need to read this," he put his hand into his jacket and revealed a note. "Memorise it, then destroy it." He waited for her to do so. The note was basically some details from Vulpes about their cover act, Tali and Nara were a married couple who had their stuff stolen by raiders and had arrived at the Camp looking for aid and will offer their services in exchange for these items.

Tali cringed as she read the part where she and Nara were supposed to be husband and wife. Pretending she was married to him was going to be very unpleasant. Sighing, she began to tear up the piece of paper into tiny pieces. "Well... Are you ready to do this, husband, dearest?" she turned to Nara and asked, grimacing as she put the emphasis on the last two words.

Nara ignored Tali and just walked into the camp, already annoyed by her constant complaining and moaning, she was never satisfied unless she was getting her own way and it was beginning to get under his skin.
Rex followed after them both, sniffing the air and looking cautiously at the NCR members. As they got up to the main building, Nara walked inside and began to look for someone. "He should be here somewhere," he whispered to himself.

"Who should be here somewhere?" Tali asked. She then dropped her voice to a whisper. "The guy I'm supposed to be talking to?"

Nara caught sight of Curtis walking into one of the radio rooms, he instantly made a quick turn and walked inside, assuming Tali would follow. Once they were all inside he closed the door. "Captain Curtis," Nara said the name like he knew it was alien. The Captain nodded gently, to show he understood.
"You two are here, for the monorail yes?" The man kept his words cryptic just in case they weren't who he thought they were.
"And the prisoner." Nara added.
Curtis finally stood up. "Good, I've got the details of your mission here." He handed Nara a small letter.
